Online Coding Classes for Class 8 Students

Class 8 is the sweet spot for real programming. Students can hold an abstract model in their head, they have the patience to debug, and school work has not yet become the pressure it will be in Class 10.

CodeMasti's BUILDERS track is designed around this year: students design, code, debug and publish a working website, write Python that actually does something, and learn to use AI as an assistant they can defend rather than a shortcut.

What a Class 8 student learns at CodeMasti

  • Python fundamentals: variables, conditions, loops, functions and lists
  • JavaScript and the DOM: making pages respond to the user
  • Command line, Git and GitHub for versioning real projects
  • Deploying a website to a public URL and maintaining it
  • Twelve sessions on AI tools: prompting, debugging with AI, verification and documentation

Which batch is right for Class 8?

Most Class 8 students are placed in BUILDERS. Beginners with no prior exposure start in SPARK for a term; confident coders occasionally test into INNOVATORS.

BUILDERS · Intermediate track

Design, code, debug, and publish a working website — with AI as a working assistant

₹2,999 registration + ₹1,999/month · 2 live classes/week (Saturday + Sunday) · 8 sessions/month

Every CodeMasti student takes the free CST first. The result decides the batch and the scholarship, so no student is placed by class alone.

Projects Class 8 students build

  1. Marks analyser. A Python program that reads scores, computes averages and grades, and prints a report.
  2. Portfolio website with Git history. A multi-page site built in VS Code, versioned on GitHub and deployed live.
  3. Expense tracker. A browser app with add, delete and total features, teaching lists, state and events.

A typical week

  • 2 live classes (Saturday and Sunday evening, about an hour each)
  • 1 weekly practice challenge with instructor feedback
  • A 30-minute Python or JavaScript task that feeds into the capstone

Every live class is recorded and available in the student dashboard, with a monthly one-on-one mentor session and a monthly progress update sent to parents.

What parents should know

  • Class 8 students should have their own GitHub account; the course sets it up and it becomes a portfolio for later applications.
  • Batches are capped at 25 so the instructor sees every student's code. Monthly parent updates show what was built, not just attendance.
  • Fees for BUILDERS are ₹2,999 registration plus ₹1,999 per month, with merit scholarships decided by the free CST.

Class 8 coding FAQs

What Python projects are suitable for Class 8?
Quiz games, a marks analyser, an expense tracker and a text adventure are the CodeMasti Class 8 staples. Each one uses loops, conditions, functions and lists in a way the student can explain. See our guide to Python projects for Class 8 on the blog.
Is Class 8 too late to start coding?
Not at all. Class 8 students learn faster than younger children because they can reason abstractly. A beginner starting in SPARK in Class 8 is typically writing Python and JavaScript within a few months.
How does coding in Class 8 help later?
Class 8 coders enter Class 9 and 10 with a portfolio, Git experience and Python fluency, which makes school computer science, olympiads and later INNOVATORS-level work (data structures, AI, full-stack) far easier.
